Malibu: Your Summer Vacation Hot Spot

Summertime is on the way and there’s no better place to soak it in than the California coast. It may come as no surprise that Malibu is California’s most famous seaside community, not only because of its natural rugged beauty, but also because of the unique low-key resort vibe that locals call “that Malibu feeling.”

Sure, Malibu is a playground for the rich and famous…but when you check in to the Malibu Beach Inn, you’re the star and it’s your turn to have all the fun!

Malibu Beach Inn is the ideal location for enjoying all things Malibu, including the beach, the ocean, Getty Villa, Malibu Lumber Yard & Malibu Country Mart, Hollywood Theater, Adamson House, Malibu Pier and Pepperdine Center for the Arts.

Immerse yourself in the beauty and nature of Malibu. Our staff can help you find the perfect hiking trail or direct you to legendary surf spots like Zuma and Surfrider beaches.

Marvel at the majestic canyon views and peaceful isolation of Mulholland Drive, Point Mugu State Park and Nicholas Flat Trail Malibu. And be sure to stop at the gorgeous Adamson estate next door, where you’ll see how early Malibu royalty lived.

A short walk away is the incredible Malibu Country Mart, where you can check out Planet Blue, John Varvatos, Oliver Peoples, one of the three unique Ralph Lauren stores, or one of among 65 upscale boutiques, galleries, and restaurants.  Take a Crumbs cupcake break in the new Lumber Yard development, shop at the stunning James Perse store, and be sure to check out the new celebrity hot spot Maxfield.

There’s so much to do, and yet you might just find yourself sitting back and relaxing on the beach. Go right ahead…after all, it’s your vacation!

If you’ve been to Malibu before, you’re familiar with its irresistable charm. From its expansive ocean views and world-class beaches to its abundant shoppes and rich cultural gems, Malibu never fails to deliver. One of our favorite places to enjoy an afternoon and experience all that Malibu has to offer is the Adamson House.

The Adamson House is located within the Malibu Lagoon State Beach Park, and it’s one of the best places in Malibu to soak up gorgeous views of Malibu Lagoon, Malibu Beach and Malibu Pier. But it doesn’t stop there… this incredible historic landmark features sparkling fountains, flagstone pathways and a pool with an adjoining bathhouse. It’s even been dubbed the “Taj Mahal of Tile” as a result of the extensive use of decorative ceramic tiles created by Rufus Keeler of Malibu Potteries!

Built in 1930 for Rhonda Rindge Adamson and her husband, Merritt Huntley Adamson, this house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977 and was designated as an official California Historical Landmark in 1985.

The Adamson House is just a stone’s throw away from Malibu Beach Inn, located at 23200 Pacific Coast Highway. Guided tours are available Wednesday through Saturday; a gift shop is open for memorabilia and unique gifts. Admission is $5 for adults 17+ and $2 for children.

Special thanks to The Adamson House for the use of their beautiful imagery for this post. Learn more at
